Jimmy Jukebox (Track #2) is actually L.A.'s legendary underground genius Kim Fowley. The Steven McDonald Group (featuring Steven McDonald of "Redd Kross") covered "Motorboat" for their 2002 CD ep, entitled "This Is Not A Rebellion...This Is A Mass Awakening!" It's a really groovy track and it should have been a hit BOTH times!

Sweeney Todd (Track #7) was a Canadian band that featured Nick Gilder ("Hot Child In The City") and, at one point, Bryan Adams (EEK! He practically OWNED the airwaves in the 80's!). Their song, "Roxy Roller" featured Gilder on vocals and 16-year old Adams on guitar.

As for Brett Smiley news, I've been informed that 14-year old Chelsea Doll from Los Angeles has recorded a cover of Brett's "Va Va Va Voom." And what a wonderful song to cover! It is completely catchy, and pure ear candy. As soon as I've received more information, I'll post it. It's really cool that this kid is hip enough to delve into other (and especially older) types of music! Let's face it, the current wave of what's being fed to today's youth is pretty horrendous. You've got to dig for the good stuff. It doesn't just magically appear. And on that note, until next time!
